The other paradigms are: Win\/Lose, Lose\/Win, Win, and Win\/Win or No Deal.<\/p>\n<p>Win-Win is a frame of mind and heart that constantly seeks mutual benefit in all human interactions. It\u2019s not your way or my way, it\u2019s a better way, a higher way.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen one side benefits more than the other, that\u2019s a win-lose situation. To the winner it might look like success for a while, but in the long run, it breeds resentment and distrust.\u201d\u00a0<strong>\u2013 Dr. Stephen R. Covey<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Which paradigm is best?<br \/><\/strong>Most situations are part of an interdependent reality, and then Win\/Win is the only viable alternative of the six paradigms of human interaction. Think of Win\/Win as the bait of interpersonal leadership. Character is the foundation of Win\/Win. There are three character traits essential to this paradigm:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Integrity<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 The value you place on yourself.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Maturity<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 The Balance between courage and consideration.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Abundance Mentality<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 The idea that there is enough for everyone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cIn the long run, if it isn\u2019t a win for both of us, we both lose. That\u2019s why win-win is the only real alternative in interdependent realities.\u201d\u00a0<strong>\u2013 Dr. Stephen R. Covey<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Many people think in terms of either\/or: either you\u2019re nice or you\u2019re tough. Win-win requires that you be both.
